I've made a new sketch blog Drown rat but I know lots of people like the ease of following LJ, so I figured cause I have the time I'm gonna make a super dump of some of the things from there. some of them I've put on my main journal here before, but now its all in another one place on LJ.

this is what I made one of my friends for christmas. It took forever or it felt like it.
8.5 inches tall.
Fully removable cloths.
I painted on the eyes, but everything else in hand sewn.
I had to use paint to "dye" the green vest, because they aren't neon green and I could not for the life of me find army green felt.

still making things to send out though...but now I'm back in school.
tomorrow will be really productive or really sadly not.

I had a hard time working on this because of school and stuff. Then I was making christmas presents. I ended up finishing it last night/this morning at 2:30.
This was for a contest about drawing your imaginary friend from when you were little. I never had an imaginary friend. This girl I knew and I had imaginary pet tigers that we would talk about on the bus ride to school, but I mostly neglected mine. Instead I spent time imagining I was other things. I was dinosaurs and horses and I forget what else now. Hopefully the image says this kind of. with less words and more flying dinosaurs. |

click for the 800x600 version. The background is extended to the left and right so it kind of looks like jack is laying on a green cube.
in progress, before I covered up all the lines and moved that hand.
my favorite part...jack's earrings. Probably because in a sea of "subtle" gradients those are mostly the only little details.
ha ha ha I got it in november still, november wallpaper! I only missed two months then...I think.
I'm more excited about getting a wallpaper done for the month than I am about the actual art this time.

I think thats it for now. school starts again tomorrow and my schedule is all messed up. So I either have an 8 am class or I will be treating myself to breakfast. I do not know which. |

I know I wouldn't have worked on this all day. But I figure it would have taken me an extra hour or two before I became frustraited and quit for a while. Instead I must go give a presentation on things in front of the class.
I did the drawing on one layer, and then I started "inking" over it in another layer...went AH! SCREW IT! and started painting over the inked parts (which there weren't many). I want to do paintyness all on one layer because I rarely do that. It freaks me out because if I screw it up I'll have lost the good outline. This also forces me to paint from back to front. even though I already didn't do that because I didn't do the background first. ha ha ha consistency you are so dumb. |

What can you do, but you don't know about because you just never tried?
I can make creepy looking warcraft trolls.
it is a new thing or an old thing. On the trolls they have a racial passive ability for something or another. I think its they are less likely to get caught by stun effects or something. Its called Da Voodoo Shuffle. and after explaining what it does for you gameplay wise, under it says "Trolls be flippin out mon!"
yeah rokal, yeah you are.
I use him as a bank and to run around with his red raptor. someone told me nicely that I should get a tiger/cat that they have better stats. all I told them in return was "But this one is red..."
the resolution is really small...so I might blow it up and make it a wallpaper or I might make it icon ness. or I may never finish it (the main reason its going up here now).

I found  in one of my watercolor pads. I made him at work. I really don't like scanning things because it kills all the soft color. pencil, watercolor and colored pencil.
and I made this over 3 hours at work (while taking care of customers)
its an ATC that will likely never get finished. backgrounds require thought, which is annoying. But one of the few backgrounds I've thought about for a while is a swampy one. dark pencil over light rough pencil over really rough blue pencil. rough being idea wise. |

at the begining of october I doodled my friend's dog in a shark costume because I thought it was funny, over time however I realized I could make a fleece shark hat. I've seen them done with the dino tails and stuff. so I figured it out.
me wearing the shark hat and looking crazy. I have no idea why I look like that. maybe I am possessed.
Ideally it may or maynot have teeths and gills. But I'm fairly adverse to eyes, but without the eyes it makes teeth and gills look even more weird. I may just sew gills and leave it at that.
with teef. looks dumb I think, but that may just be the quality of model I chose to wear the hat...
I'm going to wear my fleece badger hat to work not this one because its not done and there is a potential for a coworker to wet themselves over what I've made and I would end up giving it away. I'm not ready to let it go yet :(
p.s. obviously october wallpaper is not happening in october :(
I'm still using nicholas and his glowy arms...because it seems more appropriate than what I was drawing with case and jack being lazy.

this may stand as october's wallpaper...but I hope it doesn't have to. I can't get anything to do what I want it too and my brain is full of house remodeling plans and I have postit notes all over of the things that need to be done...and on top of all that there are school projects where I don't like any of my classes.
case with one of the bandito boy's dogs.
the dogs turn more green and translucent as they get older until the flamey bit runs all the way down their back and they get a tail...and some eyes...
nothing kills my ability to do something than just enough time...
too much - hey okay
too little - even better
"well you have till 2 before you go to work...thats plenty of time!"
